My father passed in May. When my brother and I sat in the funeral home and they provided all the choices, my brother simply asked, "What is the cheapest?" We knew that is what Dad would want.
It also spurred to actions. 1. I wrote an article for MuddyUM titled, Yesterday, I Learned Planning a Funeral is Supposed to be a Somber Event. It shared the expenses and crazy expectation of a funeral. 2. My husband and I arranged for cremation and paid for it. Our remains will be placed in biodegradable boxes and handed to our children to bury near our cabin. DONE!
I loved, loved, loved your story.
