Susan, my dad owned a bakery and I grew up working in it through college. Remember many times taking a nap on flour sacks. Mom used to make doughnuts at home that were a gift to my taste buds. With those two experiences, I have never made doughnuts at home. Maybe because of the thousands I fried at that time or my intimidation of not meeting my parents standards - IDK.
